Jennicke 11-8-08

The second shoot of the day starred Jennicke as herself, a.k.a. Scorpio.

We went down to the beach (where a wedding was going on, yay!) and proceeded to have way more fun than pros should...the music was very distracting! lol

I styled Jennicke in kind of like a toga, a little more "womanly" than the past two shoots, where I was going for more of a found nymph feel...And as a side note which I don't think I'd mentioned before, each of the models is wearing a color that pertains to the zodiac sign they are meant to be representing.

This was the first (and so far only) set of photos that I 100% edited on my own from start to finish...

Vanessa O. 11-8-08

I started out this weekend of FOUR shoots with Vanessa O....We'd been trying to schedule a shoot all year, and we finally were able to get together on Saturday and shoot for the calendar...

Vanessa O. is actually a Virgo, but for the calendar she represented Taurus, and she will be featured in May in the calendar.

Kenny has been teaching me how to work the programs as well, and I actually helped edit these...=)

(DISCLAIMER: in the interest of keeping the calendar interesting and fresh, ANY picture I post from calendar shoots ANYWHERE is simply a "preview"...I am not AT ALL posting the actual photos to be used in the calendar, which I believe to be the best shot from any given set, or any photo that even slightly resembles it...so if you wanna see the best of the best from these shoots, the calendar is the only place to see it!)

Lynn 11-1-08

I recently shot the first set in the series of photos that will make up the first ever (and hopefully annual) Beautiful Garbage Photography calendar, just in time for 2009...if all goes to plan (and it damn well better! lol) I should have the first copy in my hand before December, and won't that be grand?

The wardrobe was created on the spot by me, BTW...lol my first attempt at styling and I have to say I was expecting worse, but it turned out alright if I do say so myself...

A photo from this set (not one that's posted, BUA HA HA! it shall be a SURPRISE!!!) shall be featured in the 2009 Beautiful Garbage Photography calendar, which I am INCREDIBLY happy to announce already has some buzz going and has some people waiting excitedly to buy! YAY!

in the next couple weeks, we'll have the shoots completed, and the calendars should be available by early December (holiday gifts, anyone? LOL who wouldn't want something that affords them the ability to look at beautiful women all year? and even if you're not into beautiful women, I'm sure you appreciate beautiful photos, or you wouldn't be reading this!)

The calendars will be available for $25...and be horoscope inspired, i.e. the first set featuring Lynn (a Beautiful Garbage newcomer) as Sagittarius...The calendar will feature some new faces, as well as SEVERAL of your favorites, including Vicki and Jennie!

I'm very excited about this new venture, and hope to hear your thoughts, both on the idea and the photos themselves...

Thelma and John's Wedding 10-4-08

WOW!!!

so, I have just shot my first wedding as a professional.

Insanity.

First off, I gotta say, I haven't been to a wedding besides my own since I was nine, and I don't think I'd ever been to a Catholic ceremony, so I figured the day would be hectic, but I didn't consider it would be CHAOTIC with the only break being the hour and a half long ceremony, which was basically a lecture on contraceptives, abortions, and what slim chances the couple had of making their marriage work, sprinkled with a bit of "do you? do you? ok, give her the ring."

Not for nothing, Catholics, after all I used to be one, but why do ya gotta zap the fun outta everything? lol

I wasn't able to get all the shots I had planned (or had hoped) to get due to the rain and the time crunch mostly, but I did get SO MANY shots that editing them is a little overwhelming to both Kenny and I...I was up til 5:30 AM just organizing the photos based on timeline (since I used two different camera bodies, the photos were separated on two cards in no particular order).

I did have an AMAZING time considering I was "working" (I feel bad calling it work when it's such a blast), and I feel confident that with this wedding under my belt, the next one should be even MORE of a success!

I do have to say, it's two days later...and my back and feet are STILL sore! wow! something to be corrected before next time...MUST GET INSOLES or something! lol

Overall, I'm just very excited and thankful that I got this opportunity (thanks again to Elizabeth Stinson for taking a chance on a rookie and giving me this amazing chance) and I look forward to many more weddings!!!

AVD 9-20-08

The Wallflower Gallery had their 3rd annual GLBT event September 20th, and my favorite all girl, all lesbian band (lol not too many of those around, I know, but these girls ROCK!!!) Audio Video Disco closed off the event with a fantastic (as always) set...gotta love these girls!

I created a whole album on my myspace which I shall be filling with photos little by little, as I surely shall be photographing the band more in the near future =D They are currently recording their first EP and they have commissioned me to do the photography for their album art. ME! WITH MY WORK ON A CD! yay!

Melissa and Victoria's actors' headshots 9-7-08

so, I had never worked with actresses before, I'm used to either working with aspiring models or people who have never been in front of a camera at all, so I really didn't know what to expect from these girls...

I am happy to report that both Melissa and Vicky were great sports with all the crazy scenarios I kept throwing at them to get different facial expressions, and were both beautiful and super charismatic. these girls are going to go far!!!

Make-up for this shoot was again provided by Kary-Anne, and the ladies did their own hair and wardrobe. I was very impressed and happy when the girls told me they had actually done their homework as far as the best poses for what they needed and also what colors and wardrobe would work best for them, etc. If all my models were so professional! :sigh: lol

anyways, the editing was provided once again by my husband Kenny, who's getting better and better with every shoot.
