This is the first shoot in another series I'm working on specifically for a gallery exhibit I am working on...the series is called "Creative Expressions", and in a nutshell, the concept is people expressing themselves creatively...painting, dancing, cooking, playing instruments...only naked. nothing distracting from them doing what they love, just the person and their art...

Anisey, an old co-worker of mine, volunteered for the series, having been a cellist since childhood...and being a brave enough soul to strip in front of a random person and in front of a camera knowing the world would see her so vulnerable...

I think the photos came out beautiful, and I was able to work out a lot of the kinks from the first studio set-up...

Jennie 7-20-08

my first "studio" shoot...using my $60 light kit from eBay and a sheet set that I SHOULD have taken out of it's packaging more than 1 hour before the shoot, but hey...growing pains, right? lol

this was SUPPOSED to be a pin-up shoot, but because it was for Jennie's portfolio, I didn't argue when she showed up with three less than pin-up-y outfits to shoot in...I think they came out pretty good though, considering the circumstances...and she LOVED them, which is the most important thing!

actually, these photos have started me branching in a whole new VERY PAID area in my photography career, so I guess really THAT'S the most important thing ;)

Sakura 6-28-08

another repeat offender shoot! ;)

Sakura and I had no idea really what we were going to do for this shoot lol only that we were given the opportunity to shoot at the historic Hialeah Park, which is a historical landmark...you have to pull a lot of strings to be able to set foot there, let alone photograph there!

This was my first official shoot as "Beautiful Garbage Photography"...before I had been going by "Photography by Desiree..."

She showed up in costume and we just let the surroundings guide the shoot...Sakura was 15 weeks pregnant here, and I think her face has a nice little glow to it! lol

Vicki 6-8-08

My first repeat offender! LOL Vicki and I did something of a spin on the "gowns" series...she thought of doing something we called "Princess goes Punk", which started out as just a regular "gowns" shoot but morphed into something a little more edgy...

We shot this at El Prado in the Gables...one of my fave shoots to date!

Natalia 5-4-08

Natalia was my last photoshoot of the weekend and my first guinea pig in a series I had thought up that really is just known as "gowns"...sorry for the lack of pizzazz lol basically, I just wanted to photograph girls in dresses that make them feel fabulous, and I was hoping to get some fashion/editorial posing in there as well...

The shoot took place at El Prado at the Gables, and I must say I am in love with A LOT of photos from this set!

Michelle 5-3-08

My third photoshoot in May was with Michelle, half of my favorite set of fraternal twins lol We had the shoot at her house, with her dog Linda watching =)

Kimberly Hope 5-2-08

Kimmie is Laura's cousin (you remember Laura, right? from a few posts back? lol) She kicked off the month of May, which started with 4 shoots in three days! Kimmie's took place on a Friday, then I had Larry Saturday morning and Michelle Saturday afternoon before winding down the weekend with Natalia on Sunday...

Kimmie was another one of my victim's for the exotic make-up series, hence another one that I made up (let's just say for all purposes that unless otherwise mentioned, I did the make-up for EVERY shoot, just because it's easier to take that fact for granted than to have to mention it in every post lol). Kimmie's make-up was actually inspired by the charms on her necklace and her love of rainbows in general...

her boyfriend Chris and cousin Laura were present for the shoot, and although Chris was adamant about not being in ANY photos, I managed to catch him in a couple...

this was shot at the new Business building at FIU University Park campus...






i HATE that window or whatever that is in the background, but this picture was completely a matter of me catching a moment and was in no way posed, so I didn't want to even bother moving them and asking them to re-enact it for fear that the new image wouldn't have the same emotion...

the Sadler twins 4-27-08

this shoot was actually inspired by a photo the twins already had on their myspaces, of them in indian inspired body paint...I had each of the girls paint each other, which is why the painting doesn't match..I just wanted the photos to be an expression of the girls, both individually and together...

the lighting was a bit of a challenge here, but overall I got the feeling I wanted from the photos, and this shoot turned out one of my favorite photos ever!!!

this client was someone I went to high school with...she wanted some sexy photos for her fiancee and then some photos of her son Danny...

there were SEVERAL clothes and make-up changes to this shoot...location changes as well...it was hectic, but very fun!

Jennie 4-6-08

My first shoot in April was with a childhood fried of mine who I hadn't seen in YEARS, Jennifer...She is an aspiring model/actress, and wanted help with her portfolio, so there I was!


I did the make-up for this shoot as well...this was my first shoot involving costume changes lol the indian costume was pretty exotic, I must say...this shoot also taught me that a model tanning before a photoshoot is a bad idea! lol i had to throw away a whole roll of film because Jennie's bikini lines were more of a focus than her lovely face!!!

this was shot at FIU University Park campus, in the Education building, and it turned out some of my favorite photos to date...

Laura 3-28-08

For my last shoot in March, I had a session with my buddy Laura from FIU...we'd had a few classes together, but otherwise we'd had kinda limited communication...I guess she liked the results of the shoot, because she referred me her cousin just a couple months later!

I thought her make-up looked great, and really popped! We had our shoot at FIU University Park campus at the Architecture Building

I photographed my sister just for kicks, and we went off on the make-up lol...basically this "shoot" was our response to my husband and his cousin being entertained, so we decided to entertain ourselves...

This was my second shoot, which was meant to be an "exotic" make-up shoot, but with Vicki's green eyes, I decided to just go subtle with some red and purple eyeshadow to bring out the color...

this is the first of MOST of my shoots where I did the make-up in addition to photographing the models...

we shot this at FIU University Park campus, specifically in the VH and Architecture buildings.
